ForestBioPitch Finale!

The final of the ForestBioPitch - From Lab to Business Idea competition will be held on November 16 during the PI's Autumn Summit, featuring pitches from the seven competing pairs. The Annual Summit is organised as hybrid event that can be participated remotely or in person at the National Museum of Finland. Welcome!


The theme of the PI's Annual Summit is New innovations from entrepreneurship and speakers include investors and start-up entrepreneurs. The keynote speaker is Alf Rehn, professor of Management and Organisation and other speakers include Jussi Sainiemi, Partner at the Voima Ventures fund, Anni Lähdetie, Patent Examiner at the Finnish Patent and Registration Office and Sami Selkälä, CEO & Founder of Innomost Oy. The final of the ForestBioPitch competition, organised in cooperation with VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, the FinnCERES programme and the Kiuas accelerator will also be held at the Autumn Summit.


Forest-based bioeconomy and new research findings offer solutions to major global challenges, such as climate change. They also pose a huge business potential. The ForestBioPitch competition helps researchers working in this field to evaluate the business potential of their research ideas and accelerate them towards commercialisation possibilities. The competition offers an excellent opportunity also for entrepreneurial partners to get to know world-changing solutions with bio-based materials and to accelerate new business development.
