  • 2 min read

The future of materials cannot rely on abundance. Even renewable resources like wood must be used sparingly and wisely — transformed into higher-value products that deliver more with less. Join us for an afternoon of innovation and inspiration as we explore the cutting-edge bioeconomy advancements and discuss the urgent challenges of declining forest carbon sinks and biodiversity loss while striving for sustainable economic growth.

The event will be organized as a hybrid event, with an on-site program at Marsio, Espoo, and an online stream.

  • Online participation: open to everyone and free of charge. Please register through this link!

  • On-site participation: by invitation only. For further information and inquiries, please contact us at info (at) finnceres.fi.

Innovation in Every Fiber follows eight years of groundbreaking research from FinnCERES Flagship Programme at Aalto University and VTT, where scientists and innovators are rethinking how to replace fossil raw materials with bio-based alternatives. The focus: efficiency, circularity, and value creation. The film spotlights recycled and wood-based textiles designed to outlast fast fashion, lightweight foams that replace plastics, bio-based dyes and coatings that eliminate toxic waste, and lignin innovations that open paths to adhesives, optics, and even energy storage. By making every fraction of biomass count—from cellulose to hemicellulose and lignin—these breakthroughs show how less material can lead to greater impact.
