Yazan Al Haj, a doctoral researcher from Aalto University is exploring different methods of how cellulose can be used for energy storage and conversion.
Some of Yazan’s projects involve developing nanocellulose-based UV protection substrates for solarcells with water evaporations solutions. He is also working on sustainable bio-based materials for supercapacitors, and batteries. Through carbonization processes cellulose can also be made conductive which can unlock fascinating applications in electronics!
